Lovisa has always loved science and research, but during her psychology studies she often wished for courses focused on specific academic skills — the kind where you could actually talk to the expert, ask questions, and learn something practical you could use straight away. She believes some things are best learned directly from those who’ve mastered them, rather than spending hours piecing everything together on your own.

Dr Vicky Garfield
Dr Vicky Garfield is an academic lecturer and researcher with a degree in psychology, a master’s degree in research methods and statistics, and a PhD in genetic epidemiology from University College London. Vicky also has over 10 years experience as a lecturer, seminar leader, personal tutor, mentor, and dissertation and thesis supervisor. Vicky’s approach to education has always been professional, friendly, but with one crucial thing in mind: teach students what they need to know and do it with as little jargon as possible, using examples that learners can relate to.
